MACEY Unveils Captivating New Single ‘Clementine’
Following his recent 2025 singles Mona Lisa Money and Seaside Wishes New Zealand–raised singer-songwriter MACEY releases latest single, Clementine.
Driven by jangling, overdriven guitars and crunchy percussion, Clementine finds MACEY at his most candid. Produced by close collaborator Ben Malone, the track frames an all-consuming infatuation as a metaphor for a toxic relationship with substances – a narrative that feels equal parts euphoric and destructive. The grit of Clementine was forged during MACEY’s time spent writing in London, inspired by the frantic, anonymous energy of the city’s underground transit. “I was surrounded by people from every walk of life, observing every character and every interaction,” MACEY explains. “With this music, it feels like I’m looking at everything from a more mature and reflective place rather than reactive. It’s about the tension of being caught in a cycle you can’t quite break.”
This release follows a string of critical successes for MACEY, including a #18 debut on the NZ Hot Singles Chart and widespread praise from Rolling Stone AUNZ and Sniffers.
