Following the success of her jazzy debut Money Bag, Tāmaki Makaurau-based indie rock artist Evie Bamford returns with Through The Day, a rich and introspective new single releasing on Tuesday 17 March, 2026.

Self-produced and lush with layered instrumentation, the track weaves cello (Gemma Henderson), clarinet and vocal harmonies (Evie, James MacEwan) into an expansive, warm soundscape that reflects Evie’s classical roots.

Mixed by Tom Broome and mastered by Josh Llewellyn (Downbeat Mastering), the single also features Jeremy Richardson (drums), Rory Johns (keyboard) and Hugo Butler (bass).

Through The Day marked a turning point for Evie – the first song she wrote that fully captured the sound she had been aiming for after years of songwriting. Built around a quietly defiant refrain “I’m just trying to get through the day,” the track pairs vulnerable lyricism with a soaring arrangement.

Evie says:

“I wrote Through The Day not long after starting my first full-time job. It was a shock to my system and suddenly all I could focus on throughout the day was waiting for it to end.

I’ve always loved being someone who has a romantic view on life. This song came out of a fear that I was losing that part of me to a mundane routine and the inevitability of growing up.”
