She has just been announced to play Golden Plains Festival 2026, along with shows at Sydney’s Phoenix Central Park, Auckland’s The Others Way and Howler this November.

And now, after its global premiere on BBC Radio 6 New Music Fix, Australia’s dark-pop songwriter Georgia Knight has unveiled Everybody Knows My Business Now, lifted from her fast-approaching and widely anticipated debut Beanpole, out Friday 31 October.

Customer pre-orders are available from her Bandcamp now, and for EU/UK customers, via Rough Trade.

Everybody Knows My Business Now, the striking album centrepiece and an undeniable live favourite, is a lonely, lowly tune that smoulders with intensity, gradually burning from a quiet ache into an emotional blaze.

The last song recorded for Beanpole and written in Tasmania, Everybody Knows My Business Now, was conceived in Jethro Pickett’s studio when Georgia was holed up there a few years ago.

“I’d just bought an autoharp and had it with me, she recalls. “I’d been plucking away and figured the song out, the chorus had been in my mind for a while. Jethro and I recorded a demo and then played it to Ben Salter who had come round for dinner.

“We finished recording at The Last Drinks HQ in Melbourne. There’s a nice pump organ played by Rosie Noyse on there, Nick Finch with an arp line and some percussion and piano, and I think guitar by Jed, or possibly me.

“I hope someone uses it for an Eric Bana film”.

Alongside the new single comes the official video for Everybody Knows My Business Now – the third and final chapter in the album’s video trilogy.

Reuniting Georgia with Martin Sagadin and Marlon Williams and featuring Kailash Bishwakarma once more, the video unfolds as a poignant visual reflection of the song, its visuals conveying the track’s emotional resonance.

Everybody Knows My Business Now is the third single from Georgia’s upcoming album Beanpole, and follows the release of the trip-hop-laced icebreaker, Desire and the moody dark-pop track Mingle.

Recorded with Andrew ‘Idge’ Hehir at Soundpark Studios, album tracks on Beanpole were largely composed by Georgia on autoharp, and later brought to life in the studio with Idge, Nick Finch (Cash Savage and the Last Drinks), Holly Thomas (Quivers), Rosie Noyes, Dan Luscombe, Joe Orton, Jethro Pickett, and more. The result is a collection of songs that toy with dark pop and the avant-garde, and venture through worlds of trip-hop, loops and synth-washed layers.

Beanpole marks Georgia’s first release since her 2023 Hell on Bent Street EP, which saw her perform at Rising, Dark Mofo and Camp A Low Hum, as well as support Blonde Redhead, Mogwai, Angie McMahon and Maple Glider.
