What’s up Muzic.nz fans,
Cheers for checking out my article!
Music has shaped my life and fueled my passions, my drive, my heart and my soul.
Powerful vocals, electrifying guitar riffs and pounding drums have lived in me since I was a small child; many memories and moments encapsulated in song lyrics and the accompanying music notes that constantly lived deep within my body. I failed miserably at learning how to play the guitar and drums, I fancied myself as a singer until stage fright proved me otherwise, so I surrounded myself in music in any way I could, working at a CD store, moonlighting as a radio host/DJ on a local radio station, Working as a Roadie for Rock FM, Touring with bands as a Promo and Events Manager and rubbing shoulders with industry elite…
But the talent landed at writing.
My diverse experience in the music industry has strengthened my ability to observe (and feel) the power in the music, the collaborative team behind it and translating all the moments into dynamic, engaging written pieces that have purpose and power.
I’m driven by the moment when music stops being sound and becomes energy and emotion; when you feel the music beating through your chest, surging adrenaline through your body and filling your brain with dopamine hits. Live music in particular is electric and shows create an atmosphere like you cannot experience elsewhere. It holds nostalgic memories, identity, and connection all encompassed.
Writing reviews allows me to re-live and share that energy before it disappears, to give it a second life in script. I aim to translate fleeting live moments into words that resonate and inspire with readers long after the encore; so that those who missed the show can still feel the moments in all their beauty, their mayhem and their divine interpretations.
I approach interviews, reviews, and feature writing with a genuine interest, wonder, awe and passion for the creative process.
My ‘why’ is poetic storytelling. I want to shine a light on artists, performances, and scenes that deserve to be seen and felt.
See you out there!
